NTAD has gained planning approval for a new family dwelling located on the lower slopes of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The site benefits from panoramic views towards Exmoor National Park and the Bristol Channel.

The house will appear single storey within the streetscene with the lower ground floor level obscured from view. A bridge will provide access into the property at the upper ground floor level (effectively the first floor) with accommodation including an open plan kitchen/ family room, study and separate lounge with external balcony.

A sunken path at the lower ground floor level provides opportunities to maximise daylight in the subterranean part of the building.

The plan is to commence works on site next year.

The rear elevation will benefit from panoramic views over rolling countryside to Exmoor National Park and the Bristol Channel.

A discrete front elevation to blend in with the neighbouring bungalows.

As you approach the house the lower ground floor reveals itself.

Bridges are cool, that’s a fact!
