Middlecroft

Renovation + extension to an Arts & Crafts style house in Exmoor National Park

(Historic Building Award Nominee)

Middlecroft is an Arts and Crafts Lutyens style dwelling constructed in the early twentieth century. Steep roof pitches that extend to the ground floor roof plane, oblong openings and dormer windows are all key features of the property. The proposed extension creates an open plan kitchen and dining space with unobstructed views towards Bossington Hill. A new master bedroom suite takes advantage of the steep roof pitch to include a vaulted ceiling and glazed gable window with balcony to enjoy the distant views. The extension blends the Arts and Crafts style with contemporary detailing to compliment the host dwelling.
